Help improve quality of care

MSF360 is a professional development program for health professionals. As part of a multi-source review, feedback is gathered from both colleagues and patients, to provide participants with a 360° perspective on what they are doing well in their practice, and where they can improve.

MSF360 evaluates how well healthcare providers communicate and work with others, and how they perform when providing patient care. If you have been asked to complete a survey for a health professional, it is because they value your input and are committed to improving their practice and providing high-quality care. The more feedback a health professional is able to collect, the more informed they will be as they self-reflect on their practice.

For patients

The patient perspective on a health professional’s performance is invaluable. If your health provider has asked you to complete an MSF360 survey, here are some details you should know:

  • It is entirely your choice whether you wish to participate and complete the survey.
  • None of the questions are about your personal health, only about the quality of care you’ve received.
  • If you do participate, your survey responses will be kept anonymous. Your feedback will be grouped with answers provided by other patients and sent to the health provider in an aggregated report.
  • Providing your feedback will help your health provider improve their practice for you and all their patients moving forward.

Completing your survey

  • If your health provider provides you with a link, type it into the address bar of your web browser (this link is unique to your provider).
  • If your health provider provides you with a QR code, scan it with your mobile device’s camera to access the survey.
    • It should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete the survey.
    • Answer each question. If a question is not relevant to your interactions with the provider or you are undecided with your answer, select “unable to assess/undecided”.
    • Click done at the end of the page to submit your survey.
  • Some health professionals or their clinic staff will provide their patients with paper surveys.
    • Completed paper surveys can be mailed directly to MSF360, or handed in to your health provider or their staff in a sealed envelope.
    • All surveys should come with a self-addressed, stamped envelope, if you’d prefer to send us your paper survey directly.

For colleagues

As someone who also works in health care and is a peer of an MSF360 participant, you are uniquely qualified to provide valuable, insightful feedback to your colleague. Health providers participating in MSF360 select the colleagues they would like to hear from and we reach out to request your feedback, which helps your peer in their ongoing professional development. Here’s what you need to know about providing feedback for a colleague:

  • It is entirely your choice whether you wish to participate and complete the survey.
  • If you choose to participate, your responses will be kept completely anonymous. Your feedback will be grouped with answers provided by other colleagues and sent to the health provider in an aggregated report.

Completing your survey

  • You will receive an email from support@msf360.ca with a link to complete the survey online.
    • Click the link to access the survey and answer each question (this should take no more than 10 minutes). We are looking for honest perspectives on how your colleague performs as a communicator, collaborator and professional.
    • If you feel you cannot properly assess any of the survey items, or you are undecided with your answer, select “unable to assess/undecided”.
    • Click done at the bottom of the page to submit your survey.
